Royal Academy of Dance Silver Swans® feature

We were honoured for the Royal Academy of Dance to feature our Silver Swans classes on their Facebook and YouTube channels this week.

The video is a specially recorded sample of beginner centre exercises and repertoire.

UK Dance Class Championships

Congratulations to Lorelle who has reached the semi finals of the online UK Dance Class Championships in 6-8 Ballet!

From a section of 77 competitors from across the UK and abroad, Lorelle has been selected as one of only 15 semi finalists.

As our only entrant in the online competition, you have represented our school beautifully.

Huge congratulations to our past student, Denis, who is currently training full time at the Royal Ballet School's White Lodge in London.

Every year at the Royal Ballet School, students are assessed to continue their training for another year. We've heard the wonderful news that Denis has successfully passed his assessment and has been offered another two years of training at the school (Year 10 & 11).

We are so proud of you!

Guest Teachers – Charlotte Ingleson and Andrus Laur

On Saturday 20th February, our children's school enjoyed a workshop with guest teachers Charlotte Ingleson and Andrus Laur.

The classes covered warm ups, technical exercises, stretches and concluded with repertoire from Sleeping Beauty. Everyone looked like they were having so much fun!

On Monday 8th Feburuary, Indiyana appeared on CBBC Newsround sharing her tips for staying active and well during lockdown.

The clip shows Indiyana working hard in her online ISTD Grade 3 Zoom ballet classes with Miss Johanna.

Silver Swans: Side by Side

We are delighted to announce that our Silver Swans® have been chosen by the Royal Academy of Dance to be a part of their new pilot, 'Silver Swans: Side by Side'.

As part of this pilot, the selected groups are partnered with another Silver Swans® group to arrange online events, shared classes etc.

We are delighted that our Silver Swans® have been partnered with Ascot School of Dance in Brisbane, Australia! On Friday 5th February we had our first informal meeting online at 9am here in the UK and 7pm in Australia.

Here is a screenshot of us all in the meeting (unfortunately, a few of our Swans involved in the Side by Side pilot couldn't stay so are missing from the picture).

We're all looking forward to our next meeting!
