Merry Christmas to Bleakholt Animal Sanctuary from all at the Janet Lomas School of Dancing in Bury. Thank you for all you do and we hope that the staff and the animals enjoy a wonderful Christmas.

We are very proud to announce that Miss Johanna has been working hard while in lockdown, and has now passed her Level 3 Progressing Ballet Technique certification. Level 3 is the highest level of Progressing Ballet Technique certification attainable. To achieve this, Miss Johanna had to have already gained her Level 1 and Level 2 certifications and she was examined on excellence in correcting faults, understanding and working with different body types, planning of rehabilitation with PBT, planning PBT class plans and also the understanding of the fascia and how it assists the body. Miss Johanna is now only one of a handful of teachers in the UK to hold her Level 3 certificate, and is the only Level 3 certified teacher in Manchester.  There is a lovely little mention of our Silver Swans® beginners ballet classes in this article by the Royal Voluntary Service.
Our Silver Swans® licensee, Johanna, has been teaching monthly online Silver Swans® ballet classes in the Royal Voluntary Service's Virtual Village Hall since the start of the first lockdown earlier this year. On Saturday 12th December, we held our annual Christmas Jumper Day, raising money for Bleakholt Animal Sanctuary. So far our children's school and Silver Swans have raised a wonderful £266 for Bleakholt!
