This week we said a sad farewell to one of our eleven year olds students. This year, she has successfully auditioned for The Hammond School in Chester to begin full time dance training in Year 7. She started ballet training with us just a little before she was seven years old and has worked so hard in every class since. In this time, she has progressed from a complete beginner, through all of her ballet grades (all with high Distinctions), and into her vocational grades. In her time with us, she has been successfully cast in Birmingham Royal Ballet's The Nutcracker at the Royal Albert Hall, London, and Swan Lake Dreams at Birmingham Hippodrome. She is a regular model for Dancewear Central (an international online dance retailer) for both their website and catalogues, and has been a Junior Associate of Elmhurst Ballet School for three years and Stagebox for one year. She has also had many successes at competitions all across the UK, winning many trophies and medals, including multiple awards at both the prestigious ISTD Junior Ballet Awards and ISTD Senior Ballet Awards. We are so incredibly proud of what she has achieved, and this is a testament to her many years of hard work and dedication. We can't wait to see what the future has in store for her. In her last lesson with us, we asked whether she has had a favourite moment or a particular highlight. Her response?– "All of it"
While in lockdown, we have been providing Silver Swans® classes in the Royal Voluntary Service's Virtual Village Hall.
It was an honour to find out that our school was mentioned on BBC Radio Manchester this week for its involvement in the Virtual Village Hall. You can listen here at 1:17:50: |
