![]() On Sunday 29th October 2017, the annual ISTD Imperial Classical Ballet Awards were held in Milton Keynes. 36 schools competed from the UK and abroad with 51 entrants in the class. The standard, as always, was exceptionally high at the competition. Competitors were required to perform set exercises, plus a set dance, to a panel of three adjudicators, and a large audience. Both of our students qualified for the finals, and had to perform the exercises and dance once again. We are so proud to announce that one of our students was awarded the Elizabeth Hodgshon Musicality Cup, and another was awarded 3rd place. Above 5 photos: Hudson Photography
![]() We are absolutely thrilled to announce another Nutcracker success story! One of our ten-year-old students is to perform in Birmingham Royal Ballet's The Nutcracker at the Royal Albert Hall, London, this Christmas. This is the first time BRB has staged this production at the Royal Albert Hall, and he will be performing alongside 70 professional dancers and a full symphony orchestra. Places were highly sought after, as 620 children auditioned for just sixteen parts (8 boys, 8 girls) at Urdang Academy, London. After passing the first audition, he was recalled for a second audition at Urdang Academy where the final cut was made. We are so proud of him, and he thoroughly deserves this achievement. After only having his first ever ballet class 20 months ago, he has achieved so much in this short amount of time – huge congratulations! What a Christmas surprise! One student performing in Birmingham Royal Ballet's The Nutcracker at the Royal Albert Hall, and another performing in English National Ballet's Nutcracker at the London Coliseum and Southampton Mayflower! ![]() This week we have heard some wonderful news from our ex-student who is currently in full-time ballet training at Tring Park School for the Performing Arts. She has successfully auditioned for English National Ballet's Nutcracker, which is to be performed at the London Coliseum and Southampton Mayflower this Christmas. She is so excited to part of this professional production, performing alongside the English National Ballet Philharmonic orchestra. It was lovely too for her to come and visit us this half term to say hello.
Special congratulations to our 1st prize winner as it was her first dance competition.
