Two of our students have been performing in professional productions this Christmas and New Year:
Following our event as part of Silver Sunday UK 2019, we were honoured to be asked to write a guest post for Silver Sunday UK, which you can read here:
It has been a fantastic year for both the children's school and Silver Swans® and we look forward to returning to classes on Monday 6th January 2020.
It was a lovely surprise to receive our January-April 2020 edition of the ISTD magazine and see our students prominently featured. This magazine is sent quarterly to qualified dance teachers all across the world with a readership of approximately 20,000.
Photos of two of our students appeared in the magazine representing the Imperial Classical Ballet faculty.
Well Done and thank you to everyone for raising £79.00 towards the defibrillator fund!
On Sunday 8th December, we held our annual Silver Swans® Christmas Party. In spite of a lot of illness, we still had a fantastic attendance of 66 Silver Swans aged 55-85. This term, each of our six Silver Swans® classes have been learning a dance from The Nutcracker – Spanish Dance, Arabian Dance, Russian Dance, Chinese Dance, Dance of the Reed Pipes and Dance of the Sugar Plum Fairy. As it was a Christmas Party, everyone dressed up in a costume that matched their dance. As a surprise, we welcomed narrator Chris Terry, who take us on a magical journey through the story of the Nutcracker. We also had a super buffet to finish the day and prizes for the best costumes! At the party we held a Tombola and Raffle which raised £357.88 towards a defibrillator for Blackford Bridge United Reformed Church.
They both thoroughly enjoyed the morning!
