On 8th May, the story of our Silver Swans® Bury was featured on BBC North West. A video then was created for social media which has been shared worldwide – as far away as Australia and USA.
Six weeks since the event, the video has reached over 143,000 views, over 1000 likes, over 1000 shares and over 100 comments. This video by the BBC also appeared on the main BBC News website entertainment homepage. After an additional story was run by Mercury Press, which featured in The Times and Daily Express, the story, photos and videos have been featured online, appearing on MSN UK, France, Germany, Spain (to name just a few). It has also been featured in news sources in China, Asia and USA. On Tuesday 12th June, a group of our Silver Swans® went to watch Swan Lake at The Rock cinema in Bury. This was a streamed viewing of the Royal Ballet's new production of Swan Lake, live from the Royal Opera House in Convent Garden, London.
Not only were our Silver Swans® watching the production at Vue Cinema, Bury, but our Silver Swans were also watching the live stream in Stockport and on holiday in Torbay and Dartmouth! It was a wonderful production with such beautiful dancing – a great evening was had by all.
The 4th-10th June was World Heart Rhythm Week, founded by Arrhythmia Alliance, STARS and Atrial Fibrillation Association.
Silver Swans® Bury classes participated in World Heart Rhythm Week by taking the Pulse Check Challenge. All Silver Swans® took a simple pulse check at the start of all classes during this week to raise awareness. One of our nine-year-old Junior students enjoyed a fantastic day, with six hours of ballet training at Tring Park School for the Performing Arts in Hertfordshire. She attended their Junior Ballet Intensive Day and was taught by Adam Cooper (ex-Royal Ballet), Sarah Wildor (ex-Royal Ballet), and Claire Wilders (ex-West-End)
