An article featuring one of our students has been featured in the Bury Times. It covers the story of his successful audition for Elmhurst Ballet School after only starting ballet classes a little over two years ago. He will begin to study full-time at Elmhurst Ballet School (in association with Birmingham Royal Ballet) on a scholarship in September.

Festival of Ageing

Our Silver Swans® took part in Manchester's first 'Festival of Ageing', celebrating a positive and diverse image of ageing. We were involved in four events throughout the two week festival:

The Manchester launch event, held at Manchester Central Library, where we hosted two interactive sessions.
The Bury launch event, held in Millgate Shopping Centre, where we ran two Silver Swans® demonstrations.
Our own Silver Swans® fringe event on Sunday 8th July at Blackford Bridge URC where we hosted a free taster session followed by afternoon tea, which was kindly funded by the Ambition for Ageing/The National Lottery – this event was fully booked.

And finally the festival finished with a group from our Silver Swans® classes (6x dancers and 1x soloist) performing at the festival finale event. This was held at The Midland Hotel in Manchester to an audience of 300 invited guests.

Thank you to all our Silver Swans® who assisted us throughout these events – your help was invaluable.
