Dancewear Central catalogue 2019

This week, Dancewear Central released their new catalogue. The catalogue featured five of our current students, and two past students (who are now at full-time ballet school).

Our students modelled pre-school, children's and teen dancewear in different styles including, ballet, tap, jazz, contemporary and character. The photos were taken over multiple photo shoots in both location and studio settings.

In the catalogue, our students were featured alongside dancers from English National Ballet, Northern Ballet (Leeds), Genée International Ballet Competition bronze medalist 2019, and BBC 'The Greatest Dancer' winner.

We're very proud of all the students featured – the images look beautiful!

Progressing Ballet Technique classes

We are delighted to announce that from September 2019 we are offering Progressing Ballet Technique as a regular class on our school timetable.

Our classes are to be taught by fully certified PBT teacher (for Junior, Senior and Advanced levels) Miss Johanna.

Progressing Ballet Technique is an innovative program developed by RAD examiner, Marie Walton-Mahon, alongside the care a guidance of a team of physiotherapists. Its aim is for students to understand the depth of training muscle memory in achieving their personal best in classical ballet – and Marie's passion is for safe dance training. PBT is supported by numerous professional dancers and ballet company directors

Tring Park residential summer school

This week, three of our junior students attended their first residential summer school at Tring Park School for the Performing Arts in Tring, Hertfordshire.

They took daily classes in Ballet, Jazz, Contemporary, Musical Theatre, Commercial and Street Dance. These classes were taught by teachers who had danced in Birmingham Royal Ballet, National Moravian Silesian Ballet, CATS the Musical and Phantom of the Opera just to name a few.

They all had a wonderful time and thoroughly enjoyed their first residential dance course.

It was lovely for them also to live and train where a past student of our school attends full time on the classical ballet course.

Silver Swans® class for Oldham Coliseum Theatre

We were honoured to be invited to Oldham Coliseum theatre to teach a one-off Silver Swans® ballet class to their over 50s group, 'Full Circle'.

The group meet once a fortnight to experience different activities. It was lovely to teach the 28 very enthusiastic members, and to hear such great feedback from the session (and their insistence upon having a return visit from us!)

Thank you to two of our current Silver Swans® who were such wonderful helpers for the session.

Dancewear Modelling

It was lovely to see one of our senior students modelling the launch of Capezio's latest range of dancewear for Dancewear Central.

Also launched was the latest Capezio children's range, modelled by one of our five year old students.

Moorland International Ballet Summer School

One of our nine year old students enjoyed a great week at Moorland International Ballet Academy's summer school.

She took intensive classes in Ballet, Character, Jazz and repertoire.

We were delighted also to hear that she was the youngest student to be placed into the highest band for classes throughout the week.
